Cel painting is the SHIT. Seriously. It's the best thing that ever happened to me. Anyway,
I'm taking an art class (ends next week), and we started painting cels last week. Now, I didn't draw this in class, but to be frank, I didn't really like my teacher's style of art, so I cheated and used this one instead. She was cool with it, tho. But, yeah. It's taken me about 3 hours to do just this much. You're supposed to paint over it about 4-5 times until the color is even, but I can be a perfectionist sometimes, and it came through here. She didn't have a whole lotta colors, so I had to make do with what she had and blend. I like the way the jacket came out, tho.
And, yeah. The lack of shadows/highlight on the skin and hair kills me too.
I took it home because she doesn't have black, and I need black for the shirt. I have black, so I'm going to paint it here and bring it back next week because she wants to take pictures of them or sumten.
Just as a side note, I'm the most advanced in the class. And I'm MODEST.

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
